I am Penélope Vallejo. My work is the result of a constant dialogue between intention and chance, between the hardness of stone and the fluidity of glaze.
My relationship with ceramics began more than twenty years ago, almost by accident, while studying industrial design. What started as an exploration of materials quickly turned into an obsession with the expressive possibilities of clay.
After training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona and completing residencies in Japan and France, I established my own studio in Poblenou. Here, artistic production coexists with teaching, creating an ecosystem where learning is bidirectional.
My work is deeply influenced by Japanese aesthetics. I seek beauty in imperfection, in asymmetry, and in the traces of the process. I do not hide tool marks or fire scars; I celebrate them as part of the piece's history.

The studio is a converted old industrial warehouse into a bright and open space. Equipped with 8 Shimpo wheels, gas and electric kilns, and a large hand-building area. This is where I teach my courses and develop my personal work.
